Mike's
Hand Made Pocket Crosses
I am a cancer survivor, I lost my right
Kidney to a cancer tumor in 2002. There is a story behind why I make the pocket
crosses.
It all started about 6 years ago when my brother-in-law, Wesley
Voigt in Hendersonville N.C. sent me a cross he made as a gift.
In fact he sent me 5 crosses, all different, no two are the same.
Wes was making the crosses and giving them to
cancer patients and their family's as sort of a comfort, or a remembrance of a
loved one.
Wes's son-in-law Jamie had recently lost his life to cancer, and all
Wes asks is that you make a contribution to the cancer fund of your choice after
receiving his free cross.
I also lost a relative and very good friend to cancer, in fact I have lost quite a few golfing friends to cancer.
This is why I am taking up the job here in Wisconsin of
making the Pocket Crosses for Cancer victims and people who just want something
to remember a loved one by.
All my crosses are made one at a time so no two are the same I use many different kinds of hardwood and I get all my wood in the USA.
I charge nothing for my crosses for cancer victims and their family's.
It is just my way of trying to give someone some comfort and a little support.
When you read the Pocket Cross poem you will understand.
Feel free to copy the poem, Pocket Cross Poem author is unknown.
I also sell my Pocket Crosses to individuals who want to give them as a gift to friends and
family.
I started out making about 30 crosses a month and now I am making 150 a
month and sending them all over the USA.
I use the money from my sales to purchase wood and supplies for making more crosses.
There are 12 steps in making each cross so it can get a little time consuming.
I drill a hole in each cross to make it possible to wear around your neck or to hang it up in that special place.
If you would like a pocket cross for yourself or a loved one who has cancer or is a survivor.
E-mail me at mdbrull001@comcast.net I'll send one to you at no charge.

I make the Crosses out of the following woods:
Walnut, Cherry, Cedar, Red Oak, Teak, and Coffee Tree.

Cross In My Pocket
Of the fact that I am a Christian
No matter where I may be
This little cross is not magic
Nor is it a good luck charm
It isn’t meant to protect me
From every physical harm
It’s not for identification
For all the world to see
It’s simply and understanding
Between my savior and me
When I put my hand in my pocket
To bring out a coin or key
The cross is there to remind me
Of the price he paid for me
It reminds me, too, to be thankful
For the blessings day by day
And strive to serve him better
In all that I do and say
It’s also a daily reminder
Of the peace and comfort I share
With all who know my master
And give themselves to his care
So, I carry a cross in my pocket
Reminding no one but me
That Jesus Christ is Lord of my life
If only I’ll let him be
